dbt

Many CalData projects use dbt for transforming and modeling data within our cloud data warehouses. dbt has become extremely popular over the last several years, popularizing the practice and position of "analytics engineering". It has a number of features that makes it valuable for data stacks:

• It encourages modular, reusable SQL code
• It makes it easier to track data lineage as it flows through your data warehouse
